In Los Angeles, they have opened the Echo Park Time Travel Mart, whose slogan is "Whenever you are, we're already then." It's just the place to buy the hard to find items. You read more about it at: 344design.typepad.com
I would like to buy the anti-robot fluid. It would be useful for fighting those evil robots.
Here is my daughter, age 3, explaining the plot of Star Wars Episode IV.
She explained the whole movie to me in much greater detail but unfortunately I didn't have the camera going. When I finally caught her talking about the movie again she delivered this truncated, but still funny, version.
Edit: Thank you all for the nice comments. Maybe I will print them out for her and someday and when she's all growed up she'll get to read them herself.
A little more about the video: She wasn't coached to say anything, nor was she forced to make the video. She rarely stops talking. Those of you with children understand this: sometimes it's harder to turn the faucet off than to turn the faucet on.
Believe it or not, she has the seem the movie only once, and I spread it out over 3 days so it wouldn't be too much all at once for her.
The video was edited to make it shorter, more cohesive and hopefully funnier. I did move some of the lines around so it would make more sense.
The Green Hornet was a TV show that ran for one season, 1966-1967.
Like Batman, they wore masks. There was The Green Hornet and his sidekick, Kato. They also had a car, the “Black Beauty.” Bruce Lee played Kato, by the way.
Unbroadcast test episode of The Green Hornet. These types of episodes were made to show the networks what the TV series would look like if they approve a full-blown series.
The Green Hornet is a short film that is based upon characters from the popular radio and pulp series. The Green Hornet is actually Britt Reid, fearless newspaper publisher, who dons the Hornet's guise to battle criminals that have managed to escape the long arm of law-aided, of course by his invaluable sidekick, Kato.
This was my entry for the Nintendo Shortcuts Showcase contest. I litterally finished it days before the deadline and mailed it to them by express mail. I came up with the idea out of no-where. I just woke up early one morning, pulled out all my Lego's and started building. After I was done, I decided to make this film.
Not spooky music, mind you, just songs that have a haunting kind of mood. The kind of music you would listen to on a quiet night.
Nights in White Satin – The Moody Blues
The poem at the end is the haunting part. As night falls, darkness comes.
Breathe deep the gathering gloom Watch lights fade from every room Bedsitter people look back and lament Another day's useless energy spent.
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one, Lonely man cries for love and has none. New mother picks up and suckles her son, Senior citizens wish they were young.
Cold hearted orb that rules the night, Removes the colors from our sight. Red is grey and yellow white, But we decide which is right. And which is an illusion?
For Emily Whenever I May Find Her – Simon & Garfunkel
Who was Emily? The title itself lends itself to your imagination. Was she a real person? Did they find her? And the walking the streets at night. So dark, so quiet, so peaceful.
I wandered empty streets Down past the shop displays. I heard cathedral bells Tripping down the alley ways, As I walked on.
And when you ran to me Your cheeks flushed with the night. We walked on frosted fields of juniper and lamplight, I held your hand.
You take away the breath I was keeping for sunrise You appear and the morning looks drab in my eyes And then again I'll turn down love Having seen you again Once more you'll disappear My morning put to shame
This is me playing my version of "Sunrise" by the Who, which was played solo by Pete Townshend on "The Who Sell Out" album. The audio is recorded seperately and synced with the video afterwards (added reverb makes it looked mimed but it is all live). Not perfect, but I've only just worked this out and even Pete screwed it up when he played it a while back on the live "In The Attic" webcast.
Guardian Angel – Terry Oldfield
The video for this song has a haunting quality to it. It goes well with the song.
I see you through the night And I hear you when you cry But I know I can't be your guardian angel
After inadvertently offending a strange entity that accosts him on his way to work, a 1970s businessman quickly finds himself in the midst if a bizarre predicament. What follows is a rapid descent into madness, a journey both eerie and darkly humorous.
The exact nature of the businessman's tormentor is purposefully ambiguous, lending itself to a variety of interpretations.
Is "Terminus" a surreal critique of human alienation in the modern urban environment? or is the protagonist's struggle an internal one, his mysterious stalker a manifestation of his repressed subconscious mind?
Either way, "Terminus"'s innovative visual effects and distinctively vintage atmosphere make it a highly engrossing experience.
When I brought home a Roboquad robot the other day and started playing with it, our resident guardian K9 was none too pleased. I decided to put Roboquad in "autonomous" mode, set his aggression level to high, and let the battle unfold.
Using the infrared camera in the Wii remote and a head mounted sensor bar (two IR LEDs), you can accurately track the location of your head and render view dependent images on the screen. This effectively transforms your display into a portal to a virtual environment. The display properly reacts to head and body movement as if it were a real window creating a realistic illusion of depth and space. By Johnny Chung Lee, Carnegie Mellon University. Using infrared (IR) light pens and the Wii Remote, it is possible to create very low-cost multi-point interactive whiteboards and multi-point tablet displays. Johnny Chung Lee, Carnegie Mellon University. The software can be downloaded at http://johnnylee.net/
Using an IR led array and some reflective tape, you can track fingers in thin air using the Wii Remote by Johnny Chung Lee, Carnegie Mellon University.
