Future Can Technology

There is a design out now to a can that you can open and reseal, which should help keep the carbonation in the soda. This would be handy, and by looking at the video, it should not make it any harder to recycle the can when you are done with it.

If you are interested in more information, contact:

Johan De Broyer - Inventor of The Advertising Soda Seal Marketing-Financial Business Specialist Ukraine johandebroyer@yahoo.com
http://www.kyiv-capital.com.ua

From: Adman44

Soda Seal®" conceived by my Ukrainain client/friend, Johan DeBroyer. Patent file #US61/006,673. I designed the device and created the animation in Softimagexsi. More info is available at: http://www.davisadvertisinginc.com/sodaseal/

This reminds me. A while back, everyone was talking about soda cans that would be self cooling. You would open one, and it would lower the beverage temperature. Hot soda would get cool. No one seems to be selling pop this way, but people are still working on it. http://www.tempratech.com/chill1.html

So Much to Do

Another poem I wrote. It sounds like it would be good in a greeting card.

Programs I code, programs I write,
Until I am tired later tonight.
I program for a living, that’s what I do.
But there is more to life, and more to do.

Go for a walk, see the sky,
Get something to eat, tell friends “hi!”
Yawn a bit, take a nap,
Read a book, on the phone yap.

Work I must, but fun I have too.
And I hope, it’s the same for you.

Giant NES Controller Coffee Table

I like this. A coffee table and game controller in one! You can read a detailed description of how he made it (as well as other video game related projects his done) on his blog: www.ultra-awesome.blogspot.com.

From: khdownes1

A while ago I decided I was running out of room for many many videogames and their boxes etc. (I'm one of those fanatics who insists on having everything with original boxes).

So I built this, to replace my current coffee table, it has space inside it to store game boxes etc.

Made from MDF and painted with a variety of oil based and acrylic paints.

And here’s another one.

The Weekend is Over

A short poem I wrote.

The weekend is over,
In fifteen hours,
I will be at work again.

Another week to work away,
While thinking of the weekend.
Work it seems, never ends.

It pays the bills, it can be fun,
But it is work, so not too much.
But with no work, no money.

And I need money, for this world.

And a song I like.

Glukoza Nostra

Some cool videos, in Russian. I like the animation.

I got the following information from their website, at: www.glukozanostra.com.

“Glukoza Nostra" is a play on the mafia phrase "La Cosa Nostra," meaning "Our thing."

Natasha Ionova, the lead singer, was born in Moscow, and “Finished high school, but with little zeal.” The other band members are Artyom Semyenkovich [Solo-Guitar], Denis Viskunov [Hawaiian Guitar], Kirill Savichyev [Drums], Vladimir "Kitten" Gorovyenko [Keyboard], and Anton Limyerev [stick-bass].

Music videos from www.glukozanostra.com, with subtitles made by the group.

Schweine (Pigs)

Great video! The Nazi-like pigs against the good guys.

Nenavizhu (I Hate)

Hmm. I don’t think she likes you.

Nevesta (Bride)

She’s interested in another guy. And, she will get him, no matter what.

Svadba (Wedding)

A typical white wedding. With dancing girls, and tanks.

Oi, Oi (That Is The Love Between Us)

Here’s what the band looks like.

Sneg Idot (It Snows)

This video does not have subtitles. The translation follows the video.

From: invoclass

A taxi, like kittens, purred next to my feet
And on the cellphone I hear a loud dial tone
And I don't know what to say
It's possible that I truly love you

And it snows, and it snows
On my cheeks it beats, it beats
I'm very sick - a temperature
I stand and wait for you like a fool
I caught snowflakes in my mouth, very nicely
A cool evening, nothing to do,
There, where you are not
And it snows

And the entire road up to you isn't explored

Happy Birthday

Here's a poem I wrote for my sister's birthday.

Another year, another day,
But for someone special,
It’s a special day.

Tears of joy,
Tears of laughter,
Over time we find,
What we’re after.

May your day be happy,
May you have fun,
And hopefully, at least a little,
Bit of sun.

Tough Times

Gasoline is almost $4 a gallon now. Food prices are going up. House prices are going down. Is it the end of the world? No, we have been here before. Remember the 70's?

We had an energy crisis, and at times were only allowed to buy gas on odd or even days. (Based on the last digit of your license plate.) We had high inflation, and high unemployment. But, we still had our music!

Junior's Farm - Paul McCartney & Wings

Paul McCartney & Wings perform their single "Junior's Farm" on "Top of the Pops" in 1974.

Prices were going up.

I took my bag into a grocer's store
The price is higher than the time before
Old man asked me "Why is it more?"

And people looked for someone to blame.

Ev'rybody's talking 'bout the President
We all chip in for a bag of cement

Happy Songs

We all at times need to feel good about ourselves. These songs can help put us in a good mood.

I'm Okay – Styx

Everything is alright, because I'm okay, just the way I am!

'Cause I'm okay
I finally found the person I've been searching for
I'm alright
I'm feeling good about myself and that's for sure

From: nudeanaglyphs

This was created using POV-Ray to the tune "I'm Okay" by Styx.

Downtown – Petula Clark

Maybe going downtown will cheer you up. Or, at least the song will.

And you may find somebody kind-
To help and understand you,
someone who is just like you
And needs a gentle hand
To guide them along.
So maybe I'll see you.
There we can forget all our troubles,
Forget all our cares.
So go down town.
Things'll be great when you're
Down town.
Don't wait a minute more
Down town.
Everything's waiting for you
Down town.

From: modcentric

Petula performs “Downtown” on Top Of the Pops, 1964!

Don't Worry, Be Happy – Bobby Mcferrin

Making Our Dreams Come True" – Cyndi Grecco

The theme song for Laverne & Shirley.

On your mark, get set, and go now,
Got a dream and we just know now,
We're gonna make our dream come true.
And we'll do it our way, yes our way.
Make all our dreams come true,
And do it our way, yes our way,
Make all our dreams come true
For me and you.

I Feel Fine – The Beatles

From: miweb74

Beatles performing on Ready Steady Go.

Baby's good to me, you know
She's happy as can be, you know
She said so
I'm in love with her and I feel fine

Believe It or Not – Joey Scarbury

The theme song for Greatest American Hero.

Believe it or not,
I'm walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free eee eee.
Flying away on a wing and a prayer.
Who could it be?
Believe it or not it's just me.

Work It Out – RJD2

I did not read the comments the first time I saw this video. I could not tell that the person in the video had anything wrong with him; he moves so smooth.

From: beggars

This is the video for Rjd2's "Work It Out" from 'The Third Hand' (XL Recordings). The vid features Bill Shannon who was born with a degenerative hip condition. His legs cannot carry his own weight and so he has lived a life on crutches. He has developed a new way of moving through life on his skateboard and the crutches. Though this may look like a recreational hobby or a debilitation, it is simply how Bill maneuvers throughout the day. In time to Rjd2's song "Work It Out" we follow Bill as he makes his way around. At the slow start, Bill is descending the courthouse steps in downtown Brooklyn. It's difficult, but he makes it down and the rest you'll just have to watch to understand. Rjd2 plays several extras which you can try to spot as well. The video, directed by Joey Garfield, is one continuous single shot for the length of the song.

For more information on Bill Shannon, please see www.virtualprovocateur.com/
