99 Bottles of Beer

How many programming/scripting languages do you know? Do you know C, Ruby, or Java? How about Delphi, Kipple, or Zim? The site http://99-bottles-of-beer.net has the same program written in over 1000 different programming/scripting languages and variations.

The programs will output the lyrics to the song. “99 Bottles of Beer.”

99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer.
Take one down and pass it around, 98 bottles of beer on the wall.

98 bottles of beer on the wall, 98 bottles of beer.
Take one down and pass it around, 97 bottles of beer on the wall.

And repeat...

A number of the languages listed on the site are variations of the same language. One of the most highly modified languages is BASIC. In this page from the 1978 book “BASIC Computer Games,” 15 variations of BASIC are listed.

People will always be trying to create a better programming/scripting language.
