Star Wars Needs to Expand Its Universe

As I posted the other day, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will be released in 2008, and include a video game, a book, and more. How about another movie?

When the first movie was released, it was just called Star Wars. Later on, based on it’s popularity, George Lucas announced that there would be a total of nine movies.

The “second trilogy,” to be made first. Star Wars was renamed Episode 4 - A New Hope. And Episode 5 - The Empire Strikes Back, and Episode 6 – The Return of the Jedi were released later.

The first trilogy came later, and included Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace, Episode 2 – Attack of the Clones, and Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith. This series was supposed to take place twenty years before the second trilogy.

The third, final trilogy, was supposed to take place twenty years after the second trilogy, but it has never been made. Instead, George Lucas made changes to the original trilogy a couple of times.

Now would be a good time for some more movies. While not twenty years in the future, I would like to see them make movies out of The Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn. (Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command.)

The Timothy Zahn books were a good read, and would make great movies. They may have a problem getting the original actors to be in the movie, since they are all older now, but they could use other actors, if they had to. It would still be fun to see more movies. I can hope, can't I?

I have had the same thought regarding the Zhan thrillogy. It was the most authentic to the original feel of the movies.

Plus I own them in hardcover.

Thanks for posting!

Since there are no plans to make any movies, I think I will re-read the Timothy Zahn books. They are good books.
